The name of my company is AnythingButProctorU. The problem with online courses aren't the courses themselves, it is the way the exams are administered, which is via ,ProctorU, an online proctoring service. ProctorU takes students out of their comfort zones and makes them more nervous than they already are when taking an exam. My company is a proctor service which allows you to schedule an appointment with a proctor at pre-approved test taking locations no matter where you are. Students feel much more comfortable taking pen and paper exams which would allow them to do better.
Hey Tristan! I think your idea is awesome! I hate ProctorU and once had my proctor forget to mute his microphone for me and could hear him giving instructions to other people throughout my exam. I think you could do better at delivering your elevator pitch but I thought it was really good nonetheless. I can tell you are driven to succeed and achieve greatness. Hey Tristan, I really liked your idea as well. Thankfully I have only had to take two ProctorU exams here at UF, so I haven't really experienced that difficulty thus far but I know a ton of students have had issues with it. However, I love the idea and agree that taking an online exam can really take students out of their element. The delivery was pretty good, but with a couple practice runs I believe you could've knocked it out of the park! Check mine out if you want: http://brycesharrold2.blogspot.com/2016/02/elevator-pitch-no1.html
I really enjoyed your pitch about your new business. I definitely can relate to being uncomfortable taking exams through websites like ProctorU or others. It can be really uncomfortable knowing that I am video chatting with a stranger, while they watch me take an exam. I definitely prefer to take exams in person with proctors in the room. I’m just not too sure how practical it would be to be able to assist so many students that want to take exams in classrooms. There are over one hundred students in some online classes, and that might be somewhat difficult to accommodate. Overall, I think you have a really interesting idea!
